I started each one the same way and then let a different pattern grow inside it. Tartan Torus came out like tartan. This one came out like lace.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's a near-twin of Tranquil Trance 2, with the shading moved into the alternate sections: what was black there is white here, and what was white is black. The same pattern, inverted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's the repetition I'm after. Getting each line in the right place, each circle accurate, the same mark again and again — it takes a focus that leaves no room for anything else. The me that's busy with small everyday things falls quiet, and what's left is the part that belongs to something larger.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhite gel pen on 300gsm black watercolour paper.
