The Divine Feminine (Original)

I drew this after a miscarriage in the summer of 2024. I was reading The Great Cosmic Mother at the time and thinking a lot about the feminine: the earth as mother, me as a mother, and not being a mother this time around.

Overlapping circles had become a comfort — the seed of life, the flower of life, the almond shape where two circles meet. Here I was playing with three, colouring the shapes they made so that no two neighbours matched. It came out jagged and disjointed, which is how I felt. But all of it is held inside the circle.

It's one of a pair with The Divine Feminine 2.
